Thats horrible. I hate it when I find foals in the SH. I understand if the horse is low quality or no one buys it after it has at least been attempted to be sold for 500e then I guess the horse could go to the SH. But foals should NEVER go to the SH, you need to give them a chance to raise the skills. This wouldn't be a problem if people were responsible with horses and didn't just send them to the SH. I have never, and probably will never send a horse to the SH. There's normally someone willing to buy them, you just have to be patient.

My foals seem to sell better if I say "don't send to SH."

I know that the Safe Haven is supposed to be a happy, safe place for unwanted horses, but it just feels like murder to me. When I go to pet a Haven horse once a day, I see magnificent horses there and some of them are just days away from 30 and earning a pass. And I don't think irresponsible breeders should have such a quick way out. It's not that easy in real life, unless you send the horse to slaughter, so why should it be easy in the game? They took out the abortion option, added illnesses, etc. to make the game harder and more realistic. Why not take away the Safe Haven as well. And to keep a newbie from purposely killing the horses, they should be penalized by a karma point or by paying disposal costs etc. if the horse is under 30 years old. If a newbie breeds a low GP unwanted horse, they should be stuck with it. They will breed more responsibly next time. Besides, it just isn't that exspensive to keep a horse on here. All my horses are investments. They make money on comps, with poop, and lessons. And eventually I get a pass. Seems win-win to me, no matter their GP.

Sorry, that was a particularly long rant. So if anybody on here is even thinking of putting a horse in the Haven, I want you to know that I happily buy unwanted horses. Please pm me first, I have plenty of equus to spend, and I will give your horse the very best chance they can get.

Yeah I agree, you can always do comps, sell the manure, do lessons, and get a pass when they reach 30. If they're males I usually castrate them and they become my competition horses that pay for the upkeep of the unicowrns.

Well when I first started I was a high GP breeder and sold my good horses cheepand it was a bi mistake *crys hard*Nearly all my good horses when to the Safe Haven but now I wont underprice my horses, because if someone really really wants the horse they will pay the apropiate price for it. But I heard that Howrse on purpusally does not let you stroke foals because everyone would be like "WHAT? " And I have a grudge against new playere who cant manage money and as soon as a mare is old enough then breed from it breed again and again, then wonder were the money went?? And then they mail people like me who have near enoguh 100 000e and say can you buy my horse and when you say no they take a fit!! It really really bugs me! I think it should be a rule you should not be able to send a horse to the safe haven because you cant do anything right!!!! *ping gets an idea* Some people bred good horses and they just go to waste!!

I agree with you. It is so irresponsible. If they cant even manage fake money and animals, how do they manage real life? In someways it ruins the game for someone when this happens, the original breeder, former owners, anyone who liked the horse. They worked hard to breed and/or train the horses and someone just throws them away! It sucks!!!!!

Thats a great idea! I don't think howrse would go for it anytime soon though, it would probably be complicated and howrse wouldn't make it a priority. I love the idea though. I voted "Great!"

I agree with horses929, it'll probably be a third-or-so priority task

Log on to Howrse, then click the 'feedback' link. I had problems with that, too.

I'm sure that if it gets enough good comments and votes, it will happen eventually. I don't know when though. It could take a while.

Yeah, to me the idea of retiring a horse to the SH is very strange indeed. I retire them on my own farm, so I can still visit them, or if in the future I want the pass, I can do that too, rather than let them go to the SH where they will eventually be deleted.

I agree with AngelMare, retiring would be strange.
