Really? You dismount on the right? We get on and off on the left side here.

Same here, but sometimes I'll get on and off from the right so my horse gets used to it.

Actually, we mount and dismount on the left, I just got the dismount-on-right habit from vaulting. I won a course competition where you had to change the side you dismounted and mounted on. (Teacher said it) I was the only one who could mount from the right without sticking the wrong foot in the stirrup, lol.

haha congrats on the win! thats cool, that doesnt sound like a bad idea to get your horse used to being mounted and dismounted on both sides.

Yeah he's such a good horse he wouldn't mind it a bit, but I'm not so used to getting on from the right bareback; my muscles just aren't used to it lol.

Wtf? It's easier bareback. Have you ever cantered on an Arabian? I could go on all day, the stride is lovely, spot-on, short, sharp, adorable, and the horsy could go on all day, too!

Easier getting on? Not when your horse is 15.3hh and as round as a barrel. I have to use a bucket or stump to get on him anyway. With a saddle it's very easy. Foot in the stirrup and jump. I've never ridden an Arabian, but I so want one.
