M33-The Forgotten Galaxy
It is the year 2999.
Here is Cathy Cholding. She's a 19-year-old graduate in California. She's got light brown hair and blue eyes. This is her story.
Hi. I'm Cathy. I'm 19, a graduate from the Hyperspatial College in San Francisco.
After graduating from the HS, there's really only one career: Astronaut.
I've worked in a summer job as a groom. There are only about 5 000 horses left on Earth, mostly in Scandinavia and around SF. And then there are the 10 million on other planets-Alpha Centauri E has the most, 0.5 mill. Pretty much all horses are warmbloods or Arab ×'s. There is a Grand Total of 2 breeds of semi-draft in the Universe-the Irish Draft and the Finnhorse. Total number of them: 2 500. All on Earth, except a few IDr's in the Andromeda Galaxy (M31).
In fact, I own 1/2500th of the Earth's equine population. A Jet Black Hanoverian/Arab stallion called Zapotec and a white Finnhorse mare called Tähti-Tyttö (engl. Star Girl).
That's it. I'm being sent on a mission to the Triangulum Galaxy (M33). Max posessions being taken: 3 metric tonnes. A third goes to my horses (½ a metric ton each), the rest for my spacesuit, hairbrush, toothbrush, etc. Normally you are allowed to take 5-6 metric tonnes with you, but on this three-girl mission to the Triangulum, the rest of the space is for extra food and equipment to spot inhabitable planets, since altough the InhaBitable Planet Scanning Software (IBPSS, or PissOff in slang) can reach Andromeda easily, Triangulum is just too far.
It's the year 3000 now. We just launched. It's going to take us a week to get to M33 (Triangulum). Zap and Star will be the first horses in the forgotten galaxy (M33).
Aw crap. our PissOff really lived up to it's name today. It blew up. I THINK it's got something to do with the fact that Angela's been dropping her breadcrumbs around, so they've floated into some essential component. Zara SAYS she can fix it, but I'm not so sure. At least the Internet still works. Now I'm gonna log in to the Oldest Net SIM Game Eva:Howrse.
Nearly there. M33 looks FANTASTIC from here! It doesn't half beat the pictures from Hubble MMMMCCCLLXXXXVIII, the most advanced bit of technology around at the moment, in orbit around Proxima Centauri, the best place in our Local Group to take photos. Unless M33 or an unknown part of M31 beats it.
Now we have to name the planets! That brown one's Konstino, the Big Red one is Jupiter Jr., and JJ's icy moon's Europa Jr. And JJ's Big Red Spot is Big Red Spot II, and the Small Red Spot's Big Red Spot Jr. II. There, I'm REALLY good on naming them, now? Oh, and the Earth-like one's Tellus, the 'planemo' (star-less planet) is Qaz, the star with RINGS is Saturnia, it's hot jupiter-type planet is Cold Pluto, the farther-off ones are Kuiper Fu and Charon and the freaky double-planet system's blue one's Sinaria and the red one's Winaria. Oh gosh, they're about 5 km apart from eachother, they must have diffrent magnetive fields, and I'm 100% certain that they share an atmosphere.
We're going to try Sinaria first, 'cause it looks like it's got water. We also took a lot of photos of everything to NASA, ESA, Korolev and USASA. And China&Japan, plus Andromeda Space Administration, United Universe Space Research and the one one on Betelgeuse with a name that no-one remembers.
Yay! Sinaria's a perfect copy of the Blue Planet, except improved, the trees and soil are blue.
